Board forces out TV2 topper Jensen

Exec ordered to leave post immediately

STOCKHOLM — Per Mikael Jensen, due to step down as CEO of commercial broadcaster TV2 Denmark Oct. 30, has been ordered by the board to leave his post immediately.

Jensen was named prexy and CEO of Metro Intl., the worldwide publisher of free daily paper Metro, at the end of July and begins his new job in November.

However, Metro Intl. is an affil of the Modern Times Group, which owns TV channels TV3, TV6 and cable network TV1000, and is in direct competition with TV2 Denmark. On Wednesday, the board decided that amounted to a conflict of interest.

The web is now in discussions to find a replacement for Jensen.
