Actress to host network's new dancing reality show

Elizabeth Berkley is expected to be tapped host of “Step It Up and Dance,” Bravo’s upcoming hoofing competish.

Berkley, best known for her role in the film “Showgirls,” has more recently appeared in a recurring role on “CSI: Miami.” As the host of “Step It Up,” she’ll help shepherd a group of aspiring dancers as they compete against one another for a cash prize.

Skein comes from “Project Runway” and “Top Chef” producers Magical Elves; production has begun on the series, which hasn’t yet been given an airdate. Bravo declined to comment.

Berkley’s other credits include the films “Roger Dodger” and “The First Wives Club,” as well as the TV skeins “Threshold,” “Titus” and “Without a Trace.” She first gained attention for her lengthy stint on “Saved by the Bell.”
