Exec named president of worldwide media
James Romanovich has been named prexy of worldwide media and entertainment at indie TV distrib Associated Television Intl.
The growing indie has also tapped industry vet Justin Pierce as senior veep to spearhead development of reality and scripted programming. Los Angeles-based ATI has been in the TV specials biz for more than 30 years but has recently made a push to expand its operations and raise its profile as a production-distribution entity. Company’s recent projects include the “Diana: The Legend and Legacy of a Princess” spesh, hosted by Joan Collins for MyNetworkTV.
Romanovich oversees all distribution, sales and marketing for the company as well as production of key projects. He’s spent the past two years heading TV sales at Allumination Filmworks, the indie distrib headed by former Paramount Television Group chief Kerry McCluggage. Before that, Romanovich spent 15 years with ATI in various exec posts.
Pierce joins ATI after a stint as head of media relations for Fox Television Studios and a long tenure as a PR and business exec at Columbia TriStar Television. Most recently, he had his own shingle, JP Consulting Group.
ATI’s upcoming TV slate includes the World Magic Awards; the reality skein “Real Vice Cops,” set to premiere in the U.K. and in syndication domestically next year; and syndie “Laura McKenzie’s Traveler.”
