Argentine actress Beatriz Thibaudin died Wednesday, February 7 in Buenos Aires of undisclosed causes. She was 79.
A prolific thesp, her last TV performance was in “Los simuladores” (The Pretenders), a popular private-eye series that is in its fourth rerun on leading net Telefe.
She acted in another dozen hits including “Gasoleros,” “La banda del Golden Rocket” and “Poliladron,” and on stage in “The Importance of Being Ernest” and Federico Leon’s international success “1500 metros sobre el nivel de Jack.”
In film, she performed in 16 productions, including Luis Puenzo’s Oscar-winning “La historia official” (The Official History), Daniel Burman’s “Esperando al mesias” (Waiting for the Messiah) and Maria Luisa Bemberg’s “Miss Mary” and Alejandro Doria’s “La isla” (The Island).
For her supporting role as a hip aunt in Diego Lerman’s small-budget road movie “Tan de repente” (Suddenly), she scooped awards at festivals in Havana and Biarritz as well as the Silver Condor in Argentina.
