Annie Potts joins TNT’s ‘Family’

Actress to play William H. Macy's wife in pilot

Annie Potts has joined the cast of Craig Zadan and Neil Meron’s TNT drama “Family Man.”

Other additions to the project include Jennifer Aspen (“Mr. Woodcock”), Brendan Sexton and Sean O’Bryan (“Private Practice”).

Potts will play the wife of William H. Macy (and sister-in-law of Martin Mull) in the project, a drama pilot in development for next year. Project revolves around a respected member of the community (Macy) who heads a dysfunctional gang of burglars at night.

In addition to “Designing Women,” Potts toplined the Lifetime skein “Any Day Now” and had a recurring role on CBS’ “Joan of Arcadia.”

Macy and Steven Schacter wrote the pilot script with Schacter directing. Duo will also exec produce, along with Zadan and Meron. “Family Man” is from Storyline Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television.
