Former TV publicist Rob Maynor died Feb. 5 in Reseda, Calif. He was 68.
Born in Atlanta, Texas, he graduated from the U. of Texas at Austin.
Maynor settled in Los Angeles where he worked for 28 years as a television publicist, including long term positions at both CBS and NBC. He was formerly married to publicist Maria LaMagra.
In 1995, he returned to college, and became an alcohol and drug counselor, a field in which he worked until his retirement in 2003. He was a member of the Publicists Guild, the Writers Guild and the California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.
In addition, he was the author of the play “Denial,” two books and co-lyricist of the song “If I Were Santa Claus.”
Maynor is survived by his partner, Sandra Rader; two daughters; four grandchildren and a brother.
