Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has promoted Matt Brown to exec VP of international, charging him with strategic planning for the division’s growth outside the U.S.
Brown was exec VP for Europe. Taking over those duties will be former Coca-Cola Co. executive Simon McDowell, who is joining Sony as senior VP-general manager for Europe.
McDowell will be based in London and Brown in Los Angeles.
“The home entertainment market is truly a global business, with the international sector becoming as critical as our domestic area,” said SPHE prexy David Bishop. “Matt’s extensive experience in the international home entertainment arena, and outstanding strategic skills, make him the ideal choice to help SPHE navigate the challenges of this new business environment.”
Brown has previously topped international homevid for DreamWorks and worked at Buena Vista Home Entertainment.
McDowell was most recently managing director for Coca-Cola’s business in the Netherlands.
