Sikowitz to play by Fox’s ‘Rules’

Showrunner will concurrently develop for Sony

TV scribe Mike Sikowitz has joined upcoming Fox sitcom “The Rules for Starting Over” as exec producer and showrunner.

Concurrently, Sikowitz will spend this year developing for Sony Pictures TV under a deal that he originally signed a few years ago but had been pushed to accommodate his work schedule.

Sikowitz most recently served as a co-exec producer on CBS’ “The Class.” His credits also include showrunning “Grounded for Life” (with writing partner Jeffrey Astrof). He spent time on series including “Friends”; “Veronica’s Closet,” which he exec produced; and “It’s Like, You Know.”

From 20th Century Fox TV, “Rules” stars Craig Bierko as a recently divorced man who enters the dating world and discovers that things have changed since he got married. Rashida Jones also stars.

Bobby and Peter Farrelly are exec producers on “Rules,” along with Brad Johnson and Bradley Thomas. Chris Pappas and Mike Bernier are co-exec producers. Watson Pond and Conundrum Entertainment produce for the studio. Show is slated for a spring launch.
