TV fest books 'Tudors'

ROME — The Lux Vide/Rai Fiction Euro 28 million ($38 million) co-production “War and Peace” and “The Tudors” are the first selections to be named for premier screenings at the inaugural RomaFictionFest, which runs from July 2 to 7.

Directed by Robert Dornhelm, the Tolstoy classic “War and Peace” features Alexander Beyer, Clemence Poesy, Alessio Boni, Malcolm McDowell and Brenda Blethyn. “The Tudors” is directed by Ciaran Donnelly and Brian Kirk with screenplay by Michael Hirst (“Elizabeth”); it stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Sam Neill.

Concieved by the Italian region of Lazio and the Italian Association of Television Producers, the RomaFictionFest is a weeklong gala designed to promote TV fiction, including TV series, TV movies, miniseries and docudramas.
