U.K. and EMEA businesses to separate
Discovery Networks Europe topper Robin Paxton is ankling as part of a restructuring that will separate the U.K. operation from its Europe/Mideast/Africa businesses and recast them as two separate entities.
The two arms were previously run as a single London-based unit reporting to Paxton, who in turn reported to Discovery Networks Intl. prexy Dawn McCall.
As of Feb. 9, Dan Brooke, U.K. general manager, and Arthur Bastings, general manager for Europe/Mideast/Africa, will each report to McCall. Both units will be based in London.
Discovery said the new structure completes a long-term strategic plan.
“It has long been a goal of Discovery Networks to grow the U.K. and EMEA businesses into the successful businesses they are today with their own fully functioning management teams,” said McCall. “The strength of the U.K. and EMEA teams and the tremendous growth in our European operations is a tribute to Robin’s leadership.”
