Odd Lot Entertainment has hired former First Look Studios head William Lischak as chief operating officer.
Odd Lot principals Gigi Pritzker and Deborah Del Prete made the announcement Friday as they were heralding the company’s move to new headquarters in Culver City.
“Bill has been a significant voice in the growth, expansion and presence of independent film production worldwide,” Pritzker said. “His knowledge and relationships within the global marketplace, along with his insights into the transitions in the film business, were but a few significant reasons we wanted to have him join the Odd Lot team.”
Lischak had announced in October that he was leaving First Look at the end of the year (Daily Variety, Oct. 24); he had served there as prexy, COO and chief financial officer. Lischak joined the company in 1988, when it was Overseas Film Group, and was a key figure in transforming First Look into a fully integrated independent distribution company.
Odd Lot also announced the promotion of Linda McDonough to exec VP of production and development along with the hiring of Natalya Petrosova as VP of finance; Eryl Woodlief as VP of development and acquisitions; Delphine Perrier as director of legal affairs contract administration and collections; and Michael Urann as sales, marketing and acquisitions coordinator for foreign sales division Odd Lot Intl.
Petrosova formerly worked as a consulting manager of finance and operations at THQ; Woodlief had been VP at Aurora Prods.; Perrier previously served as director of legal affairs and contract administration at Mandate Pictures; and Urann had been international distribution coordinator at Media 8 Entertainment.
Odd Lot recently produced and financed “Suburban Girl” and “Mean Creek.”
