News Broadcasting Japan, which operates Fox channels in Japan, has announced the launch of a premium horror and sci-fi strand, the first of its kind in the Japanese market.
Called Fox Movie — SF & Horror, the new strand will start airing Oct. 1 on cable and satellite, replacing the Horror TV bouquet Fox is currently broadcasting on the Sky Perfectv! platform.
Contents will include pics, TV series and toons in the fantasy, sci-fi and horror genres, sourced from around the world. Among shows already skedded are the long-running Fox drama “The 4400” and the Stephen King miniseries “Kingdom Hospital” as well as the made-for-TV pic “It” and the classic horrors “Invasion of the Body Snatchers” and “Halloween.”
