Ray Slay has been upped to senior VP of photography and new media at NBC Universal.
Slay, who had been veepee of the unit since 2004, oversaw the creation and launch of the NBC U Photo Bank, a digital media unit dedicated to preserving and licensing the Peacock’s vast library of millions of images dating back to the 1940s.
He also remains responsible for photo distribution for all NBC television properties, as well as the management of the company’s Media Village press website.
He reports to NBC U TV Group publicity exec VP Rebecca Marks, who said Slay has been key in shaping the company’s photo and new-media department since the NBC-Universal merger.
Before coming to NBC, Slay was VP of photography and new media for ABC and what is now ABC Studios. He spent nearly a decade at the Disney-owned company.
