Jayson Dinsmore, an NBC exec who played a key role in developing “Deal or No Deal,” has been upped to senior VP of alternative development at the Peacock.
Net described Dinsmore as “the driving force” in shaping the Howie Mandel quizzer, as well as another Endemol USA-produced hour, “1 vs. 100.” He reports to NBC alternative topper Craig Plestis.
Plestis called Dinsmore “a natural leader with a proven ability to motivate creativity and stay ahead of the curve.” He is, Plestis added, the right person to “lead our creative charge.”
Dinsmore has worked in NBC’s alternative department since 2000, rising to VP in 2004. He helped develop and launch NBC’s summer success “Singing Bee,” as well as “Last Comic Standing” and “Treasure Hunters.”
Separately, NBC has upped Jenny Ellis from associate to manager of alternative programming and development. She joined the department in January 2006 and has worked on skeins including “The Biggest Loser.”
