Fox TV Studios’ David Madden has signed a new deal as exec VP of scripted programming.
Madden has held the position since 2000 and currently oversees the studio’s production of FX’s “The Shield” and “The Riches,” as well as two new shows: USA’s “Burn Notice” and TNT’s “Saving Grace.”
New Fox TV Studios prexy Emiliano Calemzuk announced the exec’s contract renewal on Wednesday.
Madden “gets behind smart and compelling projects that resonate with talent, programmers and audiences,” Calemzuk said.
Madden said he continues to look for shows “that are thought-provoking and as brave as they can be.”
“Emiliano is giving all of us the opportunity to reach further and to take big risks,” he said. “In fact, if we don’t, he says he’ll beat us with a stick.”
At Fox TV Studios, Madden has also overseen TV movies such as “Flight 93,” “Redemption” and “The Grid.”
Madden previously produced as part of the Paramount-based Cort/Madden Co., producing features such as “Save the Last Dance.” He was also an exec producer on “Runaway Bride,” and he developed and produced movies such as “The Hand That Rocks the Cradle” at Interscope Communications.
The exec was a VP of production both at Paramount and 20th Century Fox.
