There’s been a changing of the guard at NBC’s West Coast flagship station.
Linda Sullivan, general manager of NBC’s San Francisco O&O since 2002, has been named president and general manager of KNBC-TV Los Angeles, replacing Paula Madison.
Madison has had the dual role of heading Peacock’s L.A. O&O and serving as executive VP, diversity, for NBC Universal since 2000. With the shuffle at KNBC-TV, Madison will focus full-time on spearheading diversity initiatives across NBC U.
Sullivan is a veteran Peacock station exec, having run the company’s O&Os in Washington, D.C., and Providence, R.I., prior to her post in San Francisco. Rich Cerussi, exec veepee of national sales for the entire NBC O&O group, will succeed Sullivan as prexy and general manager of NBC’s KNTV-TV San Francisco.
In announcing Sullivan’s appointment, NBC U Television Stations chief Jay Ireland called her “a tremendous leader who has continually proven herself in each of the roles she has held within our division.”
