Attorney Deborah Klein, best known for her representation of comedy talent, has joined entertainment boutique Jackoway Tyerman as a name partner, the firm announced Tuesday. The firm’s new name will be Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein.
Klein — who is joining the firm after eight years with Barnes Morris Klein Mark Yorn Barnes & Levine, where also she was a name partner — is taking with her a stellar roster of clients, including Will Ferrell, Jim Carrey, Vince Vaughn, Dane Cook, Samuel L. Jackson, Paul Rudd, Toni Collette, Mena Suvari, Dave Eggers and Gary Sanchez Prods.
Before joining Barnes Morris, Klein spent 12 years at what is now known as Bloom Hergott Diemer Rosenthal & LaViolette.
The Jackoway firm was formed following the 2004 split from well-known partner Barry Hirsch. In its current incarnation, it boasts a vast client list that includes David Letterman, Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz, Jude Law, Kate Hudson, Sean Connery and Hilary Swank.
In the comedy arena, Klein adds her clients to the firm’s representation of Seth MacFarlane, Jimmy Kimmel, D.L. Hughley, Worldwide Pants, Jonah Hill and Kristen Wiig.
