LONDON — Roma Khanna, previously co-head of CHUM Television in Canada, is joining NBC Universal Intl. as president, global networks and digital initiatives.
Based in London, she will spearhead the studio’s recently announced strategy to launch 20 new channels across Europe, Asia and Latin America.
She will report to NBCU Intl., president Peter Smith, who commented, “Her strong proven leadership skills will be key to realizing our ambitious Global Networks growth plans over the next two to three years.”
Khanna will take her new post Sept. 17. Her job will include strengthening the content and identity of the Sci-Fi, 13th Street and Universal channel brands around the world. She will also be responsible for creating new digital businesses and content.
At CHUM, she was senior vp, content, in charge of the group’s domestic and international programming. Prior to that, she was vp of CHUM Interactive.
Before joining CHUM in 2003, she served as exec vp for interactive production outfit Snap Media, and manager of legal and business affairs with Sony Music Canada.
