Chris Alexander has been upped to senior VP of corporate communications at 20th Century Fox TV.
New gig puts Alexander in charge of the studio’s corporate positioning, from development to deal-making. He serves as the studio’s chief contact with the daily trade and business media, repping 20th prexies Gary Newman and Dana Walden, along with Fox 21 chief Jane Francis.
Alexander reports to Steven Melnick, 20th’s senior VP of marketing.
“As the studio has expanded and innovated in recent years, Chris has been an excellent communicator of our strategy both within the company and to the industry,” Melnick said.
Alexander had been VP of media relations at 20th, overseeing campaigns for several of the studio’s signature skeins, including “24” and “Family Guy.” He’s been with the studio since 2000, having previous helped with the publicity launch for MTV Networks’ Noggin cabler.
Before that, Alexander began his career at ABC, where he spent several years publicizing Barbara Walters’ interviews during his stint as the rep for “20/20.”
