‘Death’ writers stay put at Sony

Duo ink overall TV deal with studio

“’Til Death” scribes Alex Barnow and Marc Firek will be at Sony Pictures Television ’til 2009.

Duo have inked an overall deal with the studio that will keep them aboard “Death” as supervising producers next season. Pact also covers any future development from the writers, whose resume includes a stint on “Family Guy.”

Sony senior VP of comedy development Glenn Adilman said Barnow and Firek “have played a key role” in the success of “ ’Til Death.” “Committing to a broader relationship with them was the obvious next step,” he added.

In addition to “Death” and “Family,” Firek and Barnow have written for laffers “Out of Practice,” “In-Laws” and “Like Family.”

“Death” recently snagged a second season pickup from Fox. Skein is toplined by former “Everybody Loves Raymond” co-star Brad Garrett.
