'Divorce Court,' 'Judge Alex' to return

Twentieth TV have given a firm go for strips “Divorce Court” and “Judge Alex” through the 2008-09 TV season.

The syndie distributor’s prexy and chief operating officer, Bob Cook, announced the renewals Tuesday. Cook said the decision to bring back the shows was “a simple one.”

“Judge Alex,” led by Judge Alex Ferrer, is now in its second season. According to Twentieth, it reps the top-rated firstrun debut since “Dr. Phil.”

As for “Divorce Court,” Lynn Toler recently took over as the judge on the strip, now in its eighth season. According to Twentieth, both shows outperform syndie staples such as “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” and “Rachael Ray” in households.
