Rick Cotton, exec VP and general counsel of NBC Universal, will serve as gala chair for the 35th Intl. Emmy Awards, which will take place Nov. 19 in New York.
Cotton, who took up his post in August 2004, supervises the NBC U legal department, which provides counsel to all the major’s business units for their opera-tions and for strategic plans and acquisitions.
In addition to presenting the Intl. Emmy Awards for programming, the Intl. Academy will fete former U.S. Vice President Al Gore with the Founders Award and France’s TF1 topper Patrick Le Lay with the Directorate Award.
