LONDON — ContentFilm, the London-based distrib, has acquired the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s international library via its Fireworks International subsidiary.
The deal, expected to be inked early in 2008, includes approximately 135 titles, comprising 700 hours of programs.
CBC executive director of digital programming and business development Steve Billinger said: “Looking at our international sales activities, we determined that we lacked the scale and the resources required to be competitive in a market dominated by large, specialized firms.”
The slate includes drama skeins, docus, arts and entertainment, and lifestyle fare.
Financial details were not disclosed.
