‘Captivity’ whips it up at premiere

After Dark release delivers wild launch party

HOLLYWOOD — After Dark Films CEO Courtney Solomon, along with RedLight Special Events, made Tuesday’s “Captivity” premiere at Privilege nightclub one to remember.

Topless burlesque dancers cavorted among the crowd with an assortment of whips, chains and other creative restraints in a suitably dark scene that felt more like backstage at a Marilyn Manson concert than a Hollywood movie premiere. Star Elisha Cuthbert was a no-show, but thesp Daniel Gillies and wife Rachael Leigh Cook chatted with guest Ryan Gosling. Those infamous billboards that caused such controversy two months ago, when “Captivity” was originally set for release, were back up again outside the club, albeit briefly.
