Angela Bromstad has been confirmed as head of NBC Universal’s new U.K. production base (Daily Variety, May 29).
Bromstad will become president, international TV production, NBC Universal Intl. Sept. 1, charged with leading TV production and strategic TV content partnerships across all territories.
The former president of NBC Universal Television Studios also will be responsible for international growth via local production, geographical expansion and new business creation.
NBC Universal prexy and CEO Jeff Zucker said, “It makes great sense to bring Angela’s tremendous experience, good taste and important relationships to this new international playing field.”
Bromstad was at NBC U TV Studios — now called Universal Media Studios— during the development of scripted comedy and drama series such as the U.S. version of “The Office,” “House,” “Battlestar Galactica,” “Monk” and “Pysch.”
NBC Universal Intl. recently announced its intention to expand globally, where the potential for higher growth rates exist.
