Bridges will star in ‘Families’

Skein also will focus on the women who work for them. David Kohan and Max Mutchnick (“Four Kings,” “Good Morning, Miami”) wrote the pilot and will exec produce via Warner Bros. TV.

Cast-contingent pickup“The Rich Inner Life of Penelope Cloud,” a multicamera half-hour about a former literary star who has an epiphany and opts to pursue optimism rather than cynicism. Jeff Greenstein wrote the pilot script and will exec produce via ABC Television Studio and CBS Par Network TV.

Cast-contingent pickup“Atlanta,” a half-hour, single-camera laffer about two people who meet at a funeral — and can’t seem to stay away from each other. “Mad About You” thesp Paul Reiser wrote the pilot and will exec produce via CBS Par Network TV.

CastingBeau Bridges, seen recently in a recurring role on “My Name is Earl,” will star in the Fox comedy pilot “Two Families.” He’ll play David Sr., a man who gets into a car accident — and his secret, that he has been fathering two families, is revealed. 20th Century Fox TV and HBO Ind. Prods. produces.

CastingKeith Robinson (“Over There”) has joined the cast of the crime drama pilot “The Apostles.” Project revolves around cops living in Simi Valley. 20th Century Fox TV produces.

CastingLinus Roache (“Kidnapped”) will play Matt Canterbury on the legal drama “Canterbury’s Law.” Pilot stars Juliana Margulies as a female defense attorney. Sony Pictures TV produces.

CastingAaron Paul (“Mission: Impossible III”) will play Dupree, and Betsy Brant is on board as Marie, in the Sony Pictures TV pilot “Breaking Bad.”
