NEW YORK — BET Networks has engineered promotions for three of its top execs: Scott Mills, to president and chief operating officer; Michael Pickrum, to chief financial officer; and Denmark West, to president of digital media.
Mills, who was CFO and president of digital media, will oversee ad sales, content distribution, marketing, legal/business affairs, finance, digital, research, international and administration. Programming remains under the aegis of Reginald Hudlin, who became president of entertainment in 2004.
Pickrum was executive VP and CFO of BET Interactive. West was executive VP and chief of operations for global digital media at MTV Networks, the umbrella company of BET.
BET is finally filling a president’s job that opened up last year when Debra Lee relinquished it for the post of chairman and CEO of BET Networks. Mills reports to Lee, and Pickrum and West report to Mills. Mills and Pickrum are based in Washington, D.C., and West in New York.
