Warner Bros. “Astronaut Farmer” preemed at a fitting venue — Hollywood’s own space bubble, the Cinerama Dome.
Apparently, for pic’s Bruce Willis, the red carpet was merely a warm-up for the celeb-throttled GM10 fashion show happening just a few blocks south.
For twin filmmakers Michael and Mark Polish, “Astronaut” was a leap into the studio world. But, said director Michael Polish at pic’s after-party at nearby Blvd. 3, “absolutely nothing” changed except seeing commercials for the film on television.
Jon Gries, who’s appeared in all of the Polish brothers’ films said making “Astronaut” was like any of the filmmakers’ other pics — indie or otherwise. “They’re self-contained, and their producer is good at holding a big umbrella over their head.”
Pic’s Virginia Madsen said there was immediate camaraderie between her onscreen husband Billy Bob Thornton and herself. “We were around for a long time before we went to the Oscars — Billy Bob with ‘Sling Blade’ and me with ‘Sideways.’ ”
The Warner Bros. preem force included Alan Horn, Jeff Robinov, Lynn Harris and Dawn Taubin. Also on hand were exec producer Geyer Kosinski and producer Paula Weinstein .
