The newly rechristened ABC Television Studio (formerly known as Touchstone TV) has staffed up its business affairs team, hiring five new execs for the growing department.
New to the studio are VPs Sabrina Padwa and Jeff Freid, as well as directors Jeff Hegedus, Stephanie Beeman and J. Christopher Hamilton.
All five report to ABC TV Studio exec veep Howard Davine.
“Each of these individuals brings a fresh perspective and solid expertise to our business affairs group, which enhances the studio’s ability to make smart, creative and fair business deals in the ever-changing landscape,” Davine said.
Padwa moves to ABC TV Studio after 12 years in New York-based entertainment law — the last six as general counsel and head of business affairs at @radical.media.
Freid returns to Disney after most recently serving in the business affairs departments at CBS and UPN. Before that, he spent two years as a business affairs exec at Buena Vista TV. His credits also include a stint at Artists Television Group.
Hegedus had served in Touchstone’s legal affairs department before moving to business affairs. His other credits include stints at Interlight Pictures and O’Melveny & Myers.
A 20-year business affairs vet, Beeman has spent time at Motown, 20th Century Fox and Banner Entertainment, as well as several law firms.
And Hamilton previously served as VP of business affairs at Gavin Polone’s Pariah shingle. He also spent four years at MTV Networks in New York.
