Wolf ready for law


Staffing — Helmer Betty Thomas (“John Tucker Must Die”) has become the latest feature director to attach herself to a CW project She’ll direct the pilot for “Dash 4 Cash,” the CBS Par-produced comedy that spoofs the reality genre. Thomas directed the pilot for Fox’s “The Loop.”


Casting Diedrich Bader (“The Drew Carey Show”) has joined “Skip Tracer.” Thesp will next be seen in the feature “Balls of Fury.”

Casting Melanie Griffith, last seen on the WB laffer “Twins,” will guest in the pilot for “Viva Laughlin.” There’s a chance the thesp could return on a recurring basis if the skein is greenlit to series.


Casting Scott Wolf, recently seen in ABC’s critically acclaimed but short-lived “The Nine,” is set to star in the Alphabet’s untitled Sachs/Judah comedy. Pilot revolves around co-workers at a law firm. Wolf came to fame on the drama “Party of Five.”

Casting — Add two more to the growing two-hour “Grey’s Anatomy” episode that could potentially turn into a spin-off for fall: Amy Brenneman (“Judging Amy”) and Merrin Dungey (“Alias”).

Brenneman will play Violet on the seg, while Dungey will play Naomi. They join a cast led by Kate Walsh. ABC TV Studio produces.

Casting — Emmy winner Christina Applegate has joined the laffer pilot “Sam I Am” in the lead role, as a woman with amnesia. Thesp, seen in the film “Anchorman,” starred in the series “Married … With Children” and “Jesse.” She won the Emmy for her recurring role as Amy on “Friends.”

Also joining “Sam I Am”: Tim Russ (“Star Trek: Voyager”) will play Frank.


Casting Brianne Davis (“Jarhead”) is on board “I’m With Stupid,” the half-hour being directed by Peter Farrelly for NBC U TV Studio.
