Znaimer receives lifetime prize

MuchMusic founder honored at Junos

MuchMusic and City-tv founder Moses Znaimer will receive a lifetime achievement award at Canadian music awards the Junos.

He will be presented with the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award, for work helping the local music industry, at an April 5 gala in Calgary and will be feted during the Juno Awards the following evening. Show will be broadcast live on CTV.

Znaimer founded Toronto independent TV station City-tv in 1972 and developed Canada’s first musicvideo network, MuchMusic.

He owns radio stations Classical 96.3 FM in Toronto and 103.1 FM in Cobourg, Ontario.
