Universal Music taps Thai exec

Kamnuanthip new general manager of unit

Universal Music Thailand has named Ron Kamnuanthip general manager.

He will oversee daily operations, develop business strategies for domestic and international repertoire and boost media and corporate ties.

Kamnuanthip will be based in Bangkok and report to Sandy Monteiro, senior VP of Universal Music Group Intl. (ASEAN) effective Sept. 5.

“Ron has excellent brand development experience and entrepreneurial flair, which will serve us well in today’s ever-changing markets,” Monteiro said.

Kamnuanthip takes over from music veteran Phil Murphy, who has been interim head for 10 months. Murphy will help with the transition before resuming his job as consultant to Max Hole, president of Universal Music Group Intl.

Previously, Kamnuanthip worked as Thai managing director of international marketing agency PPW and has held posts at Pepsi-Cola and Unilever.
