SYDNEY — “Australian Idol” judge Marcia Hines will be inducted into the Oz record industry Hall of Fame on July 16.
American-born Hines moved Down Under in the 1970s, when she was offered a role in the stage musical “Hair” at age 16. She went on to star in “Jesus Christ Superstar” and have a string of chart hits such as “I Just Don’t Know What to Do With Myself” and “You.”
Hines will join legendary pub rock group the Hoodoo Gurus in the 2007 Hall of Fame line up. Gurus reformed recently to tour both here and in the States; band had huge success in the 1980s with hits such as “What’s My Scene” and “My Girl.”
