Move part of group's plan to expand content

BERLIN — Pan-European broadcaster RTL is bundling its German operations under the new Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland label.

Anke Schaeferkordt, chief exec of flagship channel RTL Television and head of RTL Deutschland, said the change was part of the group’s plan to expand its content and brand onto all screens, whether TV, Internet or mobile.

Mediengruppe RTL Deutschland will comprise the fully owned RTL Television, Vox and N-TV webs as well as Super RTL (in which it owns a 50% stake) and RTL 2 (36%). Also included are pay TV digital channels, Passion, RTL Crime and RTL Living, its ad sales house IP Deutschland, service facility CBC Cologne Broadcasting Center and the RTL Interactive subsidiary.
