“The Real World” meets … “An Inconvenient Truth”?
The 20th-anni edition of MTV’s housemates-and-hormones reality series is heading back to Hollywood. And this time around, the seven or so strangers picked will live in an eco-friendly house and start living in a greener world — when they’re not drinking, bickering and hooking up, of course.
Producers Bunim-Murray Prods. are aiming for a carbon-neutral shoot, and the house itself will feature recycled materials, Energy Star-compliant appliances and bamboo flooring, and use solar energy to power as much as possible, including heating the requisite swimming pool.
Cast members will be introduced to eco-friendly practices and viewers will see them interact with green elements throughout the season, which begins airing early next year.
And maybe Al Gore can stop by with a PowerPoint presentation when the housemates aren’t out clubbing.
