In Service inflates movie screens

Christian-themed films head outdoors

“The Passion of the Christ” was no picnic for moviegoers. But it and other films with Christian themes might soon be.

Virginia-based In Service America is looking to take faith-based marketing to new heights — via inflatable movie screens.

Pastors can shepherd up to 1,500 members of their flock, as well as their lawn chairs, blankets and picnic coolers, into church parking lots and other open spaces where the 60-by-30-foot screens — which look a lot like the blow-up jumpy gyms featured at kids parties — are inflated.

The Outdoor Cinema Screening Program, as it is called, hopes to line up “Passion,” “One Night With the King” and “The Nativity Story” among its fall offerings.
