News about exec's possible Fox gig broke after July 4
Holiday weekends were made for … Kevin Reilly.
During the Memorial Day break, word leaked out that NBC was wooing Ben Silverman for a top job — causing Reilly to tender his resignation. Story played out over 72 hours, with execs, lawyers and journos trading frenzied calls from beaches and poolsides as everyone tried to figure out what was going on.
Fast-forward six weeks. Just as TV types were settling in for an extended five-day Independence Day holiday, news broke July 5 that Reilly was again in play.
This time, word was that he’s talking to Fox about taking a senior programming position. The betting was that Reilly would reunite with ex-boss Peter Liguouri, the Fox Entertainment prexy who might get an expanded gig.
At the rate Reilly is going, Labor Day figures to be a doozy.
