First production to be 'Alphabetical Order'

LONDON — Philip Wilson has been appointed artistic director of U.K. regional theater Salisbury Playhouse. The venue, founded in 1976, encompasses a 517-seat main house and a 149-seat studio.

Wilson, 36, is a freelance legit helmer who was performance consultant on the film “Shakespeare in Love” and spent two years as a producer in BBC TV Entertainment.

His hit production of “Noises Off” is currently running at Liverpool Playhouse. In October, he will direct Michael Frayn’s “Alphabetical Order” at Salisbury. Wilson will an-nounce his premier season later in the year.
