Wayne Brady extends Vegas stay

Deal ups comic into resident Strip headliner

LAS VEGAS — Wayne Brady has extended his variety show “Making It Up” at the Venetian Resort to run through mid-2008.

Deal elevates Brady into resident Strip headliner from visiting entertainer as he will provide a minimum of 130 performances over the next year. “Making It Up” is a mix of singing, dancing and improv with musical direction by Cat Gray.

Base Entertainment, presenter of Brady’s production, announced the new contract Thursday.

Brady, who will be the host of “Don’t Forget the Lyrics,” which starts Wednesday on Fox, began his current Venetian stint in April with a limited engagement that was due to end this month.

Tickets are on sale for the first five weeks of Brady’s residency, which begins Aug. 4.
