Strike no match for ‘Phantom,’ tours

Road Grosses

NEW YORK — The road rose less than 1% in Week 25 (Nov. 12-18), bringing the 13-show slate to $13,074,607. Though most of Broadway went dark due to the stagehands strike, the road continues to outperform last year’s numbers, up more than $3 million from the same frame last November.

All three Chicago productions continue to maintain strong grosses, with negligible dips for “Wicked” and “The Phantom of the Opera” and a small jump for “Jersey Boys,” pushing the show past its own Oct. 21 record with $1,143,780.

No major unexplained drops or jumps on the charts this week, just some venue reshuffling and added perfs, with “High School Musical” getting a $600,000-plus boost from three additional perfs during week two of its Cleveland run.

The highest-grossing show on the chart was “Jersey Boys” in Costa Mesa, Calif., with $1,420,190.
