“Runt of the Litter,” the semi-autobiographical solo play by former pro footballer Bo Eason, touches down in Gotham a second time with a commercial Off Broadway engagement set to play 37 Arts later this month.
Written and performed by Eason, “Runt” follows the smaller of two brothers as he tries to measure up, finally competing against his sibling in an NFL championship game. Show was first produced in New York by MCC in 2002 and also has played across the country.
Larry Moss (“The Syringa Tree”) directs “Runt,” which is produced at 37 Arts by Tom Quinn, Peter Fitzgerald, Larry Safir, Dawn Eason and Forbes Candlish.
Eason played safety for the Houston Oilers in the 1980s, while his brother, Tony, played for the New England Patriots.
Gotham previews begin Nov. 30 for a Dec. 9 opening.
