Road B.O. dips for 11-show slate

Road Grosses

NEW YORK — Road receipts fell in Week 6 (July 2-8) as the 11-show slate dropped almost 14% to $12,371,281.

“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” and “Chicago” are in layoff this week, accounting for part of the decrease, but the figures sank steadily across the board with three exceptions: the Los Angeles and Columbus, Ohio, productions of “Wicked” — the Columbus tour broke the house record this week — and the L.A. production of “Jersey Boys.”

Even with the traditional summer drop, receipts are up about $3 million from last year’s Week 6 figures.

The third company tour of “Wicked,” in L.A., was the highest-grossing show for the week with $1,583,555.
