Original stars Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp are sticking around for another month’s “Rent,” extending their stint in the Broadway tuner by four weeks.
That’s good news for the 11-year-old musical’s box office. Weekly sales shot up by more than $250,000 (to $632,966) and audiences swelled to 98% of capacity in Pascal and Rapp’s first frame back, the week ending Aug. 5.
Sales have remained high, with last week’s receipts tallying $611,973.
Producers are clearly hoping the two thesps help boost sales during the traditionally slow month of September. Pascal and Rapp now star in “Rent” through Oct. 7.
