Public Theater extends ‘Yellow Face’

Comic memoir gets additional three weeks

The Public Theater has announced a second extension of David Henry Hwang’s comic memoir “Yellow Face,” which now runs through Jan. 13. Leigh Silverman’s production of the autobiographical play about race and identity originally was scheduled for a limited engagement through Dec. 23.

Next up at the Public is the annual Under the Radar Festival, a showcase for work by new writers, with 18 plays scheduled to premiere Jan. 9-20. Following that is Richard Nelson’s “Conversations in Tusculum,” opening March 11, with Brian Dennehy, David Strathairn and Gloria Reuben.
