Laurie Metcalf has joined the cast of “November,” the Broadway comedy by David Mamet set to bow at the Ethel Barrymore Theater in December.
Longtime Steppenwolf ensemble member Metcalf (“Roseanne,” “Desperate Housewives”) will play an aide to U.S. president Charles Smith, portrayed by Nathan Lane. Story tracks the incumbent’s political misadventures in the days before an election.
Other thesps in the cast of five have yet to be cast. Joe Mantello (“Wicked”) directs the show, which begins previews at the Barrymore Dec. 20 for a Jan. 17 opening.
