“Saturday Night Live” cast member Darrell Hammond is stepping in to “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” during his summer hiatus from “SNL.”
12-season vet of the NBC sketch show will play Vice Principal Douglas Panch June 12-July 19. He follows another TV regular, pundit Mo Rocca, into the improv-friendly role.
Rocca departs June 10. L.A. incarnation of “Spelling Bee,” starring the original Gotham cast, opened May 27.
