Tuner “Gauguin/Savage Light” gets a third incarnation this summer, playing a month-long run at the Roy Arias Theaters starting June 12.
Musical — about the life of artist Paul Gauguin, including his relationship with fellow painter Vincent Van Gogh — ran four weeks at Theater Row last spring, then played eight weeks at the Abingdon in late 2006.
Man behind “Gauguin” is George Fischoff, the composer of 60s tunes “98.6” and “Lazy Day.” Fischoff wrote the music, lyrics, and book; he also directs the production, plays the piano at every perf, and produces.
Latest incarnation stars three actors (Dominic Scaglione Jr., Kaylin Lee Clinton and Adam Wright) who take on all roles.
Fischoff promises to extend the non-Equity production if, by the end of four weeks, he’s selling 15 seats per perf at $25 a seat.
