Chicago tops neutral week

Road Grosses

NEW YORK — The road stayed almost completely level in Week 23 (Oct. 29-Nov. 4), rising only $13,789 — about a tenth of a percentage point.

Chicago is once again the place to be: “The Phantom of the Opera,” “High School Musical” and “Wicked” all populated the Windy City in Week 23, with newcomer “Phantom” rising despite a move to a smaller venue, and “Jersey Boys” and “Wicked” holding steady with more than a million each.

The Honolulu production of “The Lion King” started to slide this week, losing more than $150,000, but Texans seem to like their foul-mouthed puppets: “Avenue Q” saw a $75,000 jump in Houston.

The highest-grossing show continues to be “Wicked” in Boston, this week with $1,594,446.
