Cannavale tops ‘Mauritius’

Bobby Cannavale and Alison Pill will topline “Mauritius,” Manhattan Theater Club’s Broadway production of Theresa Rebeck’s latest play.

Doug Hughes directs the fall offering about half-sisters who inherit a valuable stamp collection.

Cannavale, whose legit credits include “Hurlyburly,” won an Emmy for his guest role on “Will & Grace.” Pill (“The Lieutenant of Inishmore”) is currently co-starring opposite Jeff Daniels in MTC’s hit Off Broadway production of “Blackbird.”

Hughes (“Inherit the Wind”) helmed MTC’s production of “Doubt,” which went on to a successful commercial run on Broadway in 2005.

“Mauritius” preemed at the Huntington Theater in Boston in the fall. The production is Rebeck’s Rialto debut; her Off Broadway credits include “The Scene,” “Bad Dates” and “Omnium Gatherum.”

“Mauritius” begins previews Sept. 13 for an Oct. 4 opening at the Biltmore.
