Thesps Leslie Kritzer, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mary Louis Wilson and David Margulies have scored performance awards from legit union Actors’ Equity.
Kritzer, currently on Broadway in “Legally Blonde,” and Miranda, the composer-writer-thesp now appearing Off Broadway in his show “In the Heights,” won the Clarence Derwent Award, given each year to the season’s most promising young performers (one male and one female). Actors receives $2000 each along with a trophy.
Wilson, co-star of “Grey Gardens,” and Margulies, who this season has been seen in Off Broadway shows “All That I Will Ever Be” and “The Accomplices,” each won a Richard Seff Award, honoring one male and one female thesp over the age of 50 for performances in supporting roles. Award comes with a cash prize of $1000.
Kudos will be given out June 12 at Equity’s Eastern Regional Board meeting.
